quick update for the first time in a long time.

working on staying married.  Scared the hell out of my husband by telling him I had filled out papers to file for divorce.  He's trying to do better.  Not doing a great job at doing better, but is definitely trying.

He wants me to go out west with him this fall for a vacation (a vacation where he looks for rocks and minerals and I tag along).  Not sure how I feel about it.

Love my new job as a travel IV nurse.  The company is great!  However, they now require that I carry a blackberry that they provide.  It's nice and all, but now I have to carry two phones around.  lol

Writer's Block: I'm The Boss

If you had the resources to start your own business, what would it be?

I've said for years that I would love to grow roses or have a greenhouse to work from. I adore roses and resent how few of them actually smell like roses now. I have one rosebush here that was my grandmother's when she was younger than I am now. It's been moved around cities and states to keep things going. But it smells heavenly. I also have an old tropicana rosebush that my mom had when I was young. It is by far my favorite rose. It has a peach tint to it and it has a very distinct fragrance.

Lately, I've toyed with the idea of a doggie-daycare run from my home. My husband and I love dogs and love spending time with them. But one of us would have to not work at a real job. lol

Stolen

This is the problem with LJ: we all think we are so close, and we know nothing about each other. I'm going to rectify it. I want you to ask me something you think you should know about me- something that should be obvious, but you have no idea about. Then post this in your LJ and find out what people don't know about you.

Hit me with your best shot.

Ailments

Remind me that I am old and cannot work four 12 hr shifts in a row. It makes my feet and hips hurt. Mainly my feet. When did I get this old?

Likes and Dislikes

Just want to go on the record with this:

Just because you do not like something, does not mean that something sucks. It just means you don't like it.

Breaker 1-9 and "new" music

Heading out to Little Rock in the morning. One of my girliefriends is turning 40 and a group of us are converging on her to celebrate.

In other news, I've suddenly become very interested in the band Dashboard Confessional. Their song "Stolen" just rocks. They have stolen my heart. lol

Behave!

Stupidness

Apparently I forgot that I had swapped working today for working Wednesday for a coworker...
I got up at 4:30am and got ready for work. I drove about 3/4 of the way to work and it hit me: was today the day I swapped with Sharon? So I pulled out my calendar and checked, then to be sure, I called work and doubled checked with them. I'm such a goober. But I guess I got an early start to the day today. Lots to do here at home.

Well, I had something I wanted to say, but my ambien has apparently kicked in and erased my short term memory (and my ability to type coherently....I apologize in advance.)

So I guess all I will say is that they really need to find a way that air condioning is continuous. Not cycle on/cycle of.

Okay, the brain is not really working. Shelby says it's time to go lay down. So I guess I will......

happy little camper

After a litterally shitty day at work, I came home to two lovely emails with 2 new BSB songs. I heart them both. You can hear one of them over at www.wakeywakey.net

The other one I have on MP3 if you need it...let me know. I share what's been shared with me.

More Randomness

Random things I love or like:

I love sleeping in late and knowing that there is no reason for me to get up for the entire day.

I love to hear Brian Littrell sing "Angels and Heroes" live. Gives me chills.

I like getting to take care of patients and families when they are scared and need someone to calm their fears and be honest with them.

I love lying on the sofa with Davey and having him just look at me, nose to nose. He's soooo adorable.

I love intelligent people.

I love Richard Marx, Keith Urban, Brian Littrell, and introducing (lol) Joe Don Rooney from Rascal Flatts. I've always thought Joe Don was cute, but he's really pulled me in lately.

I like that one of my credit card company's call me when an unusual purchase is made with my card.

I like strawberries and creame frappacino from Starbucks.

I love to drive.

I love Very Vanilla flavored Silk. (soymilk)

I love that my antidepressant doesn't totally kill my sex drive now (changed pills :-)
I bet my husband loves that too. lol

I love the way John Mayer's mind works.

I love to hang out with my girlfriends, Kristi and Angie F., and have silliness coversations about our fake relationships with the famous men we lust after.

I love having my friend Tim as a friend. It's nice to know a man who's not an asshole much of the time.

I love CSI...all of them. I love House. Greg House says what comes to my mind.

I love that I feel good again.

One of the things I love

I adore the way John Mayer's mind works. He just makes sense. The man has a way with words.

See: John Mayer and check out his blog.

Sneaks and Creeeps

Had to cancel my mastercard today because some goober is charging little small amounts that are for obscure things. It's apparently some sort of revolving thing where they bill your card every month...I supposedly joined last month for $42 (and didn't catch that on my statement) but this 12.95 that has shown up twice and I haven't even had the card out...that's not working for me. If I were going to put something that were going to be a monthly charge on a card, that is not the card I would do it with. Oh well...it it ain't one thing, it's 5 things.

Going to try to sleep tonight.

Everything Test

The Everything Test

There are many different types of tests on the internet today. Personality tests, purity tests, stereotype tests, political tests. But now, there is one test to rule them all.

Traditionally, online tests would ask certain questions about your musical tastes or clothing for a stereotype, your experiences for a purity test, or deep questions for a personality test. We're turning that upside down - all the questions affect all the results, and we've got some innovative results too! Enjoy :-)

As for specific personality traits, you are adventurious (100%), religious (90%), adventurous (70%), intellectual (60%).

Stereotypes

  Socioeconomic

As I live and breathe...

I am alive. I'm just not adjusting to the daytime thing well. I get up, I go to work, I come home, I go to bed. I'm so used to sleeping during the day that I want to sleep all day on my days off.

Except on the days I have to go to physical therapy for my back. Remember me going to see the chiropractor for a while and getting no relief whatsoever from them? Well, PT is helping amazingly. I love PT. LOVE it. I actually do not have pain right now. Haven't had any all day today. Or yesterday.

Plotting Keith Urban road trips for the summer. Dallas is the only place I think I'll make it. I wanted to go to Atlanta, but the Atlanta show is either the night before or the night after the show in Memphis...I'm not doing all that flying around again.

I'm on new meds. They seem to be helping. The week between coming off of the old stuff and starting the new stuff was hideous. Counseling is helping as well.

Okay, must go take something to put me to sleep. Hope to be back soon.

I'm so jealous of Melli and her photos that seem so un-winterlike.

Mayerville

Saw John Mayer night before last. Muchly loved the show. Still don't have the hots for John or anything, I just love his mind and guitar playing skills.
I do have a new fave JM song though... "Slow Dancing In a Burning Room" Very fitting right now.
